Terence “Mr. Mads” Madlangbayan currently serves as Director of Choirs at Tillamook Junior High School and Tillamook High School, as well as Artistic Director of the Bay Ocean Community Chorus. He began his career at Freedom High School in Orlando, Florida where his work was shaped by a strong belief in process-oriented teaching, transparent standards, and the role of music education in helping students grow as musicians, performers, and people.
Since returning to Oregon, Terence has remained active in school and community music-making as a teacher, conductor, clinician, and adjudicator, with recent work spanning systems development, curriculum alignment, and district-level arts advocacy. In all of his work, he seeks to build healthy musical communities where singers develop disciplined habits, shared responsibility, empathy, and artistry through meaningful rehearsal and performance experiences. Terence is an alumnus of Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2017 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2018.
