All-State – Oregon Music Education Association

All students will room with three other students of the same gender and grade level.
We try to keep students from the same school and ensemble together, but this is not guaranteed.
Chaperones do not room with students.
Chaperones are a mix of certified music teachers and college music education majors who have gone through the state fingerprinting process.

OMEA Policies and Procedures Related to Hotels for All-State Students
SECTION (12) D.9. Students are required to stay in the hotel that their performing group is assigned with other All-State students. Students with extenuating circumstances may stay in the All-State Hotel with their parents upon the approval of the executive board. The decision of the executive board is final. Emails concerning special needs requests must be sent no later than two (2) months prior to the event — email requests to the Executive Director.

Food Allergy & Dietary Restrictions & Meal Protocol During All-State

During the registration process online through Opus, any dietary restrictions or allergies must be included in the students’ information.
Data reports are downloaded from the site and any restrictions and allergies are noted and sent to the caterers.
Many caterers already exclude nuts from their facilities and meals.
Other restrictions, such as gluten, dairy, vegetairan, etc. will be accomodated. A separate meal can be provided for those students, no extra charge.
If there is concern that the accommodations will not be sufficient, students may bring (non-perishable) supplemental food/snacks along with them.

How will teachers be notified about All-State audition and application results?

Teachers will receive an email at the address connected with their Opus account.

How come the teacher didn't receive an email from Opus with the All-State audition and application results?

Check your spam/junk folder for the email address attached to your OpusEvent.com user profile - the email from Opus is no-reply@opusevent.com.

How will I know if a student's registration is complete?

Teachers can log into audition.opusevent.com and view the registration and payment status of each student. If a student has "unpaid" next to their name, this means they have been accepted into an ensemble and need to complete payment for the event.

Can teachers/schools complete the entire process for the students/parents/guardians?

Yes, teachers can log into audition.opusevent.com and complete the registration and payment process.

Can parents/guardians complete the entire process for their student?

Yes, parents/guardians can visit Opus to go directly to their student's application and complete registration and payment via credit card.

Can parents/guardians complete just the registration process and schools complete payment?

Yes, parents/guardians can go to Opus to go directly to their students' application and complete registration and teachers/schools can log into Opus and pay for one or more students via credit card.

What do I do if my student needs to drop/decline their spot for All-State?

Email the OMEA Executive Director if a student is dropping out of an ensemble.

If a student is placed in two ensembles, they must choose one to participate in and you/the teacher must notify OMEA immediately to communicate which ensemble the student is declining.

There are many deserving students throughout Oregon who would love the opportunity to fill those spots, but they need time to complete registration and payment, too. Please don't wait until the registration deadline to decide this.
