Timeline

  • First Practice Date: August 20, 2024
  • First Contest Date: August 30, 2024
  • Deadline to submit Winners & Alternates via Opus: March 18, 2025
  • Withdrawal Deadline***: April 10, 2025
  • Alternates contacted by April 14, 2025
  • Directors Confirm Alternates by April 18, 2025
  • Schedule Posted: April 19, 2025
  • Accompanist Change Cutoff (if changing accompanists, the new one must fit the original schedule): April 23, 2025
  • State Championships @ Portland State University: May 3, 2025

***OSAA charges a $1000 fine for each student who has not withdrawn by the withdrawal date, and does not attend the event.

Registration

  • This event is FREE
  • Directors will be receiving an email with registration information on or before March 31, 2025
  • Title(s), Composer(s), Publisher(s) and Accompanist must be entered when you confirm your student’s participation
  • The confirmation/withdrawal deadline will be Wednesday, April 10, 2025.
  • Soloists will be withdrawn and replaced by alternates if confirmation hasn’t taken place by the deadline.
  • Alternates will be contacted Thursday, April 10, 2025 and will need to confirm registration by Monday, April 14, 2025.

Notes to Teachers & Performers

  • Arrive at your performance room at LEAST 10 minutes before performance time.  You will need:
    • Your instrument (mallets and timpani provided—you need to bring your own snare drum with stand)
    • Your music
    • 3 original copies of your solo (part or score) unless the version you are using is public domain (indicate).  This could be a DQ offense.
  • All equipment/instrument needs must have already been communicated. If you need it, bring it. Pianos will be in each room for accompanists.
  • Adjudication forms will be sent to the teacher by the end of day Saturday.
  • Warm-up space, pianos, and practice rooms are at a premium – please share.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO PLAYING OUTSIDE. This could be a DQ offense.

Regulations & Eligibility

RULE 8- OSAA- STATE SOLO INDIVIDUAL ELIGIBILITY

Individual eligibility rules to be satisfied by a music student in order to represent his or her school in competitive music activities are the same as for any other OSAA sport or activity.
