Description
Stayton Private School, as it was formerly called, was born out of the concern of two couples, Sanford and Elizabeth Cox and Francis and Doris Forrette. In 1978 they incorporated and began a kindergarten located at the Church of Christ in the fellowship hall with a plan to add first grade the following year. Soon thereafter another couple, Eugene and Karen Rose, became instrumental in carrying out the functions of the school. Mr. Rose served on the board and Mrs. Rose was the school’s first principal.
