Jon Bridges has received degrees in Music Education from Vanguard University of Southern California (BM) and the University of Oregon (MM). Jon has taught in Oregon for twelve years at both the middle and high school levels, with multiple groups qualifying for state level competitions and receiving high honors. Currently directing four curricular band classes, two extra-curricular ensembles, and two Mariachi classes, Jon has also served as director of the Eugene Springfield Community Orchestra, as a guest judge/clinician/presenter at multiple events throughout the state of Oregon, and as Co-Chair for the Oregon Music Education Association, District 12. Most recently, Jon has been a regular presenter at the Oregon Music Education Association’s state conference, giving presentations on the merits and a “how-to” on starting a Mariachi program in any school. Jon is a firm believer that music is a necessary and worthwhile pursuit for each and every student in his classes. Each day brings new opportunities to explore new musical boundaries and Jon thoroughly enjoys every minute of helping his students achieve their highest potential.
