Pacific Lutheran University: Richard D. Moe Organ Recital Series: Stephen Price, Organist
Stephen Price closes the series with a program featuring recently-composed works from near and far. He will perform music by beloved French-Canadian composer Rachel Laurin alongside works by Swedish composer Erland Hildèn and PLU alumnus Frederick Frahm.
Stephen “Stef” C. Price joined the music faculty at the University of Washington (Seattle) as the inaugural Paul B. Fritts Faculty Fellow and Artist-in-Residence and head of organ studies beginning in September 2023. He is in demand as a concert artist and teacher throughout the United States, with recent solo appearances at Christ Church Cathedral (Victoria, BC) and Loyola University (Chicago, IL.). Stef studied at Western Connecticut State University and the Jacobs School of Music at University of Indiana, where he earned MM and DMA degrees. He was also awarded a Fulbright fellowship to study in Toulouse, France. Following his graduate studies, Stef accepted a full-time position as Associate Director of Music and Organist at First United Methodist Church, San Diego, California (2015-17). From 2018-2023, he was Assistant Teaching Professor at Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
