![]() ![]() On May 14, the state economist will give their final forecast for the next biennium, effectively releasing the final numbers that the legislature will use to build their budget. With districts across the state threatening cuts to student-facing positions, it is critical that OEA members push lawmakers to support our funding demands for this legislative session. We are calling for new investments in K-12 to bring funding up to $12.3 B and for investments that would increase state funding for community colleges to $1.1B. Part of the new investments we are fighting for include $700M in support for special education, and $40M to support pay parity for part-time faculty in our community colleges. Help ensure our students, and their needs, are front of mind as they make the final decisions about the state budget by June 30. Together we can advocate for investments that help protect the critical services our students need to succeed. Take Action: Sign the Petition |
