Trevor Thompson, OMEA District 8 Chair

Trevor Thompson serves as the band director at Joseph Lane Middle School in Roseburg, Oregon. In addition to his teaching roles, he performs with the Bone Dawgs Trombone Quartet. Trevor is actively involved in leadership roles within the Oregon Music Education Association, currently serving as Chair of District 8.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance from California State University, Chico, and a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Oregon. In 2022, Trevor presented his graduate research on mindfulness and flow state at both the National Association for Music Education National Conference held in Washington D.C. and the International Society of Research in Music Education Conference. Trevor was awarded Oregon Music Education Association’s 2024 Outstanding Middle School Music Educator Award.

When not teaching or performing, Trevor enjoys spending time with his wife, Robyn, and their dog, Seiya. His hobbies include skiing, cycling, camping, hiking, gardening, and making music with friends.
