Janet Lea (pronounced like Frito or Hawaiian) began her teaching career in 2005 and has taught K-12 music, choir, and drama classes around the state of Oregon. Ms. Lea currently teaches 6th-12th grade choir in the North Bend School District where she has taught since 2013. Janet is an active member of OMEA and has served in such roles as the OMEA District 7 Chair and 2nd Vice President on OMEA’s Executive Board, and locally chairs the Vocal Solo & Ensemble Festival and South Coast Choir Invitational among other events.
Ms. Lea holds a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in music composition from Whitworth College, and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College. Ms. Lea also holds an Endorsement in Drama from George Fox University. In her spare time, Janet enjoys gardening, hiking, DIY projects, and spending time with family and friends.
